Join us for a virtual gathering with a fascinating guest speaker. 

In “Jane Austen and Warren Hastings,” Jocelyn Harris, reveals remarkably close connections between the largely unknown writer and the immensely powerful Governor-General of Bengal, who probably fathered her cousin, Eliza de Feuillide.

Our guest speaker is professor emerita of English at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Jocelyn has authored three Austen-focused books: Jane Austen’s Art of Memory,  A Revolution Almost Beyond Expression: Jane Austen’s Persuasion, and Satire, Celebrity and Politic in Jane Austen.
